When a family is changing, Samah believes clients deserve someone who listens closely, speaks plainly, and knows when to find common ground and when to take a firm stand. She combines candid advice, creative strategy, and relentless advocacy when representing her clients. Her approach is compassionate, practical, and mindful of the financial and emotional costs of separation.
Samah has practised family law since her call to the Ontario Bar in 2020. She guides clients from the earliest considerations of separation through negotiation and into court proceedings. Her practice encompasses parenting disputes, child and spousal support, including retroactive claims, equalization and property division, marriage contracts, and separation agreements. She also has experience with Islamic marriage contracts and mahr claims, bringing sensitivity to the cultural and religious considerations that can shape a family’s separation.
Samah brings precision and persuasive reasoning to written advocacy, and a clear, confident voice to the courtroom. During her legal studies, she earned the highest mark in trial advocacy in her class and received a top negotiator award in the national Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition. She has experience navigating high-conflict separations, including matters involving challenging interpersonal dynamics, personality disorder diagnoses such Borderline Personality Disorder, addiction issues, and other mental health concerns.
Samah believes separation is difficult enough without unnecessary conflict. She works proactively to identify the right strategy for each client, pursuing sensible opportunities for settlement and advocating fiercely in court when litigation is necessary.
As a mother of two, Samah understands that stakes are high. She approaches these matters with particular care, helping parents navigate change while keeping their children’s needs at the forefront. Samah gives each client’s concerns the attention and seriousness she would want for her own family.
Outside the office, Samah enjoys hiking with her family, playing the harmonium, and discovering the world with her two little girls. Samah is conversant in Bangla and Hindi.
